Meet Pippa Masters, CHP (NC)

Hi, I’m Pippa.

I’m a registered hypnotherapist and personal therapist based in Oxford and online.

My journey to hypnotherapy and psychotherapy started while working in the law. I’d fallen into studying law at a young age and when I started my first job, I felt like a square peg in a round hole.

Early on in my career, I struggled with anxiety. Events happened outside work which brought up issues from the past and my mental health deteriorated.

At first, like so many, I tried to hide how I was feeling and deal with it myself. It was only when I started suffering from severe panic attacks and insomnia that I sought help. With the help of a therapist, I worked through the issues I’d struggled with for so long. My experience of therapy turned things around completely.

I found peace, confidence and ease in life, including in my career and I qualified as a solicitor, but eventually, I decided to re-train as a therapist, so that I could help others in the same way my therapist had helped me years ago.

Seeing my legal colleagues, along with friends and family, struggle with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, low self-esteem and other issues made me more and more motivated to become a therapist. Therapy had made such a difference in my life and I wanted to give others the same opportunity.

Alongside my legal career, I trained to gain my certificate in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy with the prestigious National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, one of the only schools to teach hypnotherapy that is accredited by UKCP, the UK Council for Psychotherapy.

My training is in integrative psychotherapy, which means that I am trained in a number of different psychotherapeutic theories which can be tailored and applied as is most appropriate for the you as an individual, rather than focusing on only one theory or technique.

I am qualified in hypno-psychotherapy, which means I am not only a qualified hypnotherapist, but I am also trained in psychotherapeutic techniques and the psychological theories and counselling skills which underpin psychotherapy.

I am registered with the CNHC and a member of the National Society for Talking Therapies.

Here for you

My aim as a therapist is to give you the same wonderful opportunity I was given. When I went to therapy, I couldn’t imagine ever feeling better, I felt stuck. But someone helped guide me out of that place. A therapist showed me that there was more to me than I could even imagine at that point in time.

I am dedicated to providing the best possible therapy which is individually tailored to you and your needs. Hypnotherapy has helped many people create change in their lives, fulfilling goals, overcoming negative habits and feeling better. My further training in psychotherapeutic approaches means I am able to work with you and understand psychological issues and habits on a deeper level. I work in a solution-focused way, so I’m always looking to understand what it is you most want and help you get there as quickly as possible, while making sure I always work at a pace which is comfortable for you. In my practice I offer a peaceful space in which to explore any issues which are troubling you, or anything you’d like to move towards or move away from, working together using a number of different techniques and solutions so that you can find your own way forward. I am available in my consulting room in Oxford and online, offering evening and weekend appointments for your convenience.

I look forward to working with you.

Pippa
